This is an amazing gym! Visited Renzo Gracie Jiu Jitsu while in the NJ for the week. Great place for some awesome rolls and meet some great people! Very welcoming coaches and students; definitely recommend to anyone looking for a gym and high quality training in the area.

I train at a different academy in town but had the pleasure of meeting Joe at his other place of business. I am new to the world of jiu jitsu (4 months in at age 51) but I can tell just from my brief interaction that Joe has great character. I’ve heard nothing but good things about him and his school. I also went to high school with one of the other partners, Bob. He was a great guy back then and I’m sure that hasn’t changed. You should definitely check their place out. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
My training here has been very limited due to my own inability to stay consistent, but the short time I have spent training with this team has provided me with tools that I have used in multiple real-life situations that required safe de-escalation. If you’re looking to train in a discipline that you can practically apply in the real world, this is the place to do it.

One of the best schools in the area, I’ve been training jiu Jitsu since 2007 and every time I make it up there I still learn something new. Everyone is super welcoming and the instructors break things down in very intuitive ways.

Prof. Joe Alhert is one of the most technical coaches I’ve train with in 20 years of jujitsu the school and it’s facilities are top notch and the students give you a sense of family there.
These guys are the real deal. I earned my Black Belt in Thai Kickboxing back when they were still just Middletown Martial Arts and when my kids were old enough I knew they had to go here. They take 5 classes a week, 3 jiu jitsu, and 2 Tae Kwon Do, and love it. The teachers are great, even with my daughter who is 4 and a handful. They keep large groups of kids on task and learning while having fun and working out. Love them. ❤️ if I didn’t have 2 bulging disks in my neck I’d be out there training with them.

We highly recommend Renzo Gracie Jiu Jitsu at Middletown. They have flexible scheduling with a variety of classes and skill levels. The coaches are professionaland highly skilled. My son has been a student since he was in the children’s classes and moved into the adult classes.
M granddaughter has been enrolled almost a year and has learned so much from her instructors. If I had to do it all over I would.

Just started but from what I see the place is great. Instructors kind and patient. Learning a ton. Get a great workout in as well. Clean environment. The students as well are very helpful and friendly. Renzo Gracie Middletown also has a clear schedule and different classes you can make.
I found out of this Renzo Gracie school during a LEO event and fell in love with it. The professors there are extremely knowledgeable and the students are all very welcoming. I would recommend this place to any and all they work with you no matter what level your or age you are.
Training here is a place you can call home! Aside from the amazing professors, coaches and faculties that the gym has to offer; you get to train with people that become family. It’s a place you can rely on to humble you, excel in ur martial arts training, and foremost when things in life are not at its best the MATS and folks you share them with will get you through life. Top notch instruction, facility & teammates/students. I’ve traveled to other gyms and I always leave feeling grateful and fortunate thinking about the level of instruction we receive in an awesome facility on a daily basis. The gym is connected to a full weightlifting gym as well with locker rooms, sauna etc. Jiu jitsu will change your life!
My daughter has been going to this school since she’s 4, a little over a year now. She loves all her coaches and has learned a tremendous amount from them. The facility has also been newly renovated. I highly recommend this school to anyone.
Most technical instructors I’ve ever learned from, this school is pure bjj with handed down Gracie lineage unlike a lot of places that are watered down and not as technical focused.. everyone’s super nice and everyone wants to help each other get better, best place to be apart of, oss!!!
Having jiu jitsu and the option to hit the sauna or pool as well as free weights is really something. Truly nothing more you need! Great gym and great atmosphere.
My 5 year old daughter has been going to this school under the training of Coach Bob, Coach Anthony, Coach Dakota, and I can not express enough how AMAZING they are. My daughter has thrived, achieved goals, and continues to become stronger both physically and mentally. The confidence building that comes along with this type of training and the importance of learning how to protect herself is everything. I joined in July and have to say it has been an amazing experience. Brand new mat space and membership includes access to entire gym, including sauna, steam room, and locker room. The instructors are 2nd to none and have been welcoming and encouraging since day one. I would recommend it to anyone. If you’re interested in BJJ than this is the place to go, hands down.

Great academy with a great supportive environment. All of the professors have been training for many years and are always helping their students. BJJ is the best martial I’ve ever trained and Renzo Gracie’s academy is the best I’ve ever walker into.
The best place to train in Monmouth County hands down. Best deal in BJJ as well. Aside from World Champion Instructors, you get a full gym, pool, sauna, steam room, showers and more. Facility is clean and there’s something for every level of training (competition and hobbyist.)

Awesome place!! Great coaches!! Great with kids!!! I’ve been training here for a year and a half, myself, and I love it!!! Awesome instructors for both kids and adults!! Great environment!! Plus you get a gym membership when you sign up for BJJ, which includes a steam room and a sauna. Plus all the group fitness classes in I Am Fitness. Can’t say enough good things about this place!!

Brand new mat space upstairs in the I Am Fitness gym. Top notch instruction from high level black belts including Rolles Gracie, Joe Alhert, and myself. Jiu jitsu students are also able to use the steam room and sauna which is a huge bonus. There are classes for brand new beginners all the way up to the most advanced. This is an A+ Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school!

Trained here for a couple months… learned a lot…..great place for beginners and also a great place for advance grapplers….. If your living at the shore and are not training at Renzos middeltown your blowing it…
